Nordic study on mobile phone performance
The Mobile Phone Antenna Performance 2016 is a study commissioned by the Nordic communications regulators. The study found significant variation in both transmitter and receiver performance among different mobile phone models when the phone is held in hand. The way the phone is held affects the performance of the antenna in the phone. The usage position is especially crucial when the signal is poor.
A total of 26 mobile phone models available on the market were tested in the study. The tests were performed by Aalborg University as commissioned by the Finnish, Swedish, Norwegian and Danish communications regulators. The Nordic Council of Ministers supported the study.
