The figure presents the number of Posti Ltd.'s own service points, postal agency shops, pick-up outlets and SmartPost automatic parcel terminals. In addition to the annual information, the statistics also include the biannual information of the current year.
Under the Government Decree on the location of postal service points, postal service points must be located in such a manner that the distance between a person's permanent residence and the nearest postal service point is no more than 3 kilometres for at least 82% of the postal service users in the entire Finland. Furthermore, the distance between a person's permanent residence and the nearest service point may exceed 10 kilometres for no more than 3% of the postal service users. Under the Postal Act, there must be a postal service point in each municipality. In the end of 2015, roughly 83% of the population lived within no more than 3 kilometres of service points, pick-up outlets and SmartPost automated parcel terminals, and roughly 97% of the population within no more than ten kilometres. As a result, Posti Ltd.'s service point network fulfilled the requirements laid down in the Government Decree.
