FICORA's MONITORi service
The information in the MONITORi service is based on data collected in connection with FICORA's steering and supervision duties. The MONITORi service provides information, for instance, on the regional availability of TV and radio, postal services, broadband projects, and on the supply of telephone and broadband subscriptions in areas where a telecom operator has been designated to ensure the provision of universal service. The service also publishes information on significant disruptions in telephone, broadband, TV and radio connections reported to FICORA by telecom operators. N.B. Network disruptions are often temporary and low in impact. Such disruptions are published on telecom operators’ websites, for instance.

There are two different views in the MONITORi service: the map view shows the information by region on the map of Finland and the near-by area view around a selected address.
Broadband and telephone
The Broadband and telephone tab contains information on the Fast broadband project which you can filter by construction phase or areas with commercial supply. The tab also displays areas where a telecom operator has been designated to ensure the provision of universal service. By using filters, you can choose which universal service areas you want to see on the map.
Data on the Broadband and telephone tab is updated twice a year. Check the operators’ websites for the most recent information about available fixed broadband connections, for instance.
TV and radio
The TV and radio tab displays coverage areas of terrestrial TV and radio on the map of Finland. You can filter the data displayed on the map by terrestrial TV multiplex, radio channel, transmitter area or licence holder, for instance. Please note that you cannot use more than one filter simultaneously.
Data on the TV and radio tab is updated daily.
The Post tab displays the number of postal service points as provided by Posti Ltd by region and municipality, as well as specific service points by service. You can see the locations of postal service points on the map also if you zoom into a specific area. If you click an icon on the map, you can see the exact address of the selected service point and in some cases also a link to service point information by the postal undertaking.
Data on the Post tab is updated daily.
Faults and disturbances
The Faults and disturbances tab displays significant disruptions in telephone, broadband, TV and radio connections reported to FICORA by telecom operators. N.B. Network disruptions are often temporary and low in impact. Such disruptions are only published on telecom operators’ websites. You can look at past faults and disturbances in the Disturbance history. You can filter the faults and disturbances displayed on the map by service, date or operator.
Data on the Faults and disturbances tab is updated as telecom operators report significant disturbances to FICORA. Check the telecom operators’ websites for the most recent fault and disturbance notifications.
Broadband and telephone
The Broadband and telephone section contains information about prices of fixed and mobile broadband as well as availability of universal services, for instance. The price information is compiled twice a year from telecom operators’ public price lists. The most recent price information may be obtained from each operator.
The TV services section lists the terrestrial TV multiplexes available in the selected area and the TV channels contained in these multiplexes. This information is updated daily, apart from information on TV channels that is updated a few times per year. Check the TV network operators’ websites for the most recent information about multiplexes and TV channels.
The Radio section provides information about radio channels available at the selected address as well as frequencies, transmitter areas and service providers of such channels. The information is updated daily.
The Post section provides information on the nearest postal service points to the selected address. By default, the map shows an area of 1 x 2 km, or the smallest area having at least one postal service point. Below the map, there is a list of all postal services and related information. Data on the Post section is updated daily.
Give feedback on the communication services in your area
In the feedback section, you can answer questions and give feedback on the communications services at the selected address (municipality). There are questions with three alternative answers to choose from. Once you have answered a question, you will see how others within the area have answered the question. FICORA uses the answers to analyse and monitor the functionality and availability of services.
