General carrier access codes

Carrier access codes are 5-digit prefixes granted by FICORA. The prefixes identify telecoms operators and are used for selecting an operator for local, long-distance and international calls and for calls made from fixed-line phones to mobile phones.

When calling from a landline telephone, local calls, long-distance calls, international calls and calls to mobile phones can be dialled call-by-call using a general carrier access code. General carrier access codes may also be used when making international calls from mobile phones.

In local calls, the general carrier access code is dialled before the telephone number.

In long-distance calls and calls to mobile phones, the general carrier access code is dialled before the area code.

In international calls, the general carrier access code is dialled before the international prefix 00.
