Published 11.07.2017

The number of fi-domain names has increased extensively since last autumn when the new registry-registrar model was adopted. From the beginning of this year, more than 40,000 new fi-domain names have been registered. At the end of June, the number of fi-domain names in use totalled 430,000.

"The new operational model from last autumn has involved an increased interest in fi-domain names", says Juhani Juselius, Chef Specialist. Now anyone anywhere in the world can register fi-domain names.

During the first half of this year, 40,079 new fi-domain names were registered. Only in June, there were 5,642 new registrations and at the end of June, the total number of fi-domain names in use was 430,143. "Compared to the same period a year ago, the growth has been up to 34% as the number of registered domain then was 29,861", continues Juselius.
