FICORA ensures interference-free communications at Lahti World Championships

FICORA ensures interference-free communications for event organisers, media as well as Finnish and international audience at FIS Nordic World Ski Championships in Lahti from 22 February to 5 March 2017.

At Lahti World Championships, frequencies need to be assigned for media for producing programmes and distributing TV broadcasts, as well as for the teams for internal communication via radio telephones. In addition, the organisers and the audience use wireless communications at the event.

Before the event, FICORA has coordinated the use of frequencies and granted radio licences for equipment which require them. During the championships, FICORA's specialists inspect radio equipment and related licences as well as direct the use of frequencies.

FICORA monitors the use of frequencies during the entire event. FICORA's specialists are also responsible for solving any interference issues quickly to ensure effective communications.
