Published 10.11.2016

Finland and Estonia signed an agreement on the use of the 700 MHz band on 28 October 2016. The agreement guarantees the interference-free operation of wireless broadband networks.

The agreement governing the spectrum use enables using networks in the coastal and sea areas in Finland and Estonia without causing any interference to the neighbouring country.

At the same meeting, the parties also updated other agreements on wireless broadband networks and discussed new bands for wireless broadband networks, possible changes concerning maritime frequencies and the use of spectrum allocated to television broadcasting.
