One sixth of fixed broadband subscriptions equal 100 Mbps

Published 10.03.2014

The broadband subscription speeds have steadily risen. At the end of 2013, there were nearly 1.7 million fixed broadband subscriptions in Finland, and 16% of them had a nominal data transfer speed of at least 100 Mbps from the network to the user.

Also, data transfer services in the mobile network became livelier, since there was a clear increase in both the use of data and the number of data transfer subscriptions. On the other hand, the use of mobile subscriptions for voice calls also increased. However, the popularity of mobile communications network subscriptions without restrictions on the use of data transfer grew the most. The number of such subscriptions was already nearly 3.4 million at the end of the year.

Internet and telephone statistics concerning the end of 2013 have been updated in the Statistics section.
