Threats directed at mobile phones are minor compared to those directed at computers. Examples of the most significant threats are hoaxing methods. The most common of them is to induce the mobile user to call or send text messages to chargeable service numbers. Be critical about any messages or contacts you receive to your mobile phone from an unknown number or device.

The following ways help you to increase the security of your phone:

  • keep on mind how to use and change your PIN code;
  • use operators' barring and restriction services;
  • take backups and empty your phone before selling it;
  • consider before lending your phone to anyone;
  • remember that a call request or text message may be a scam attempt;
  • be careful when using the Bluetooth technology and wireless technology; and
  • consider before downloading software.
