Frequency fees
Frequency fees of radio equipment
A frequency fee is collected on radio licences and frequency reservations granted by FICORA. With the frequency fee we try to make the use of frequencies more efficient.
The frequency fee is based on
- availability;
- usability; and
- amount of frequencies.
A frequency fee is also collected on frequency reservations.
The frequency fee makes the use of frequencies more efficient. By valuing the frequency bands differently the use of radio transmitters is directed to frequencies which are less congested.
For short-term radio licences the frequency fee is calculated based on how long the frequencies are used. However, the charge is at least 25 percent of the annual frequency fee, and no less than €18.
Estimate your frequency fee
The frequency fee of different radio equipment groups may be defined by entering necessary information in the frequency fee calculator.
As the frequency fee is calculated based on the information entered, the fee suggested by the calculator will only be indicative. All details are checked when the radio licence is attended to and only then the exact frequency fee can be defined.
