Examination for Long Range Certificate LRC

If a pleasure yacht is equipped with a MF or HF radio transmitter operating on maritime radio frequencies the radio operator of the vessel must be the holder of a Long Range Certificate (LRC certificate). A Restricted Radiotelephone Operator's Certificate according to the old Maritime Distress and Safety System is also still excepted.

The Long Range Certificate can be obtained by successfully passing an examination organised by FICORA.

For the examination you will need

  • a photo ID card, passport or driving licence
  • a passport photograph, less than one year old, without stamps
  • a ball pen
