Radio licences and radio equipment complying with requirements guarantee effective radiocommunication

It is the responsibility of manufacturers, importers and retailers of radio equipment that only equipment that is interference-free, complying with requirements and bearing the CE marking is available to users. With the exception of radio equipment that has been exempted from licensing separately all equipment need a radio licence.

In order to insure interference-free function it is important that the frequency assigned is used. The use of wrong frequency may cause interference to other radiocommunication.

Frequencies are assigned for radio equipment subject to licence on a case-to-case basis. FICORA collects an annual frequency fee on the use of radio transmitters subject to licensing.

FICORA estimates the number of users and the future need for frequencies based on radio licences granted for radio transmitters. The licence information enables FICORA to contact the users of radio equipment directly, concerning e.g. restrictions on use or other changes.

You will find more information on frequencies and licences for radio transmitters and on monitoring radiocommunication on our website.
