General operator prefixes

An operator prefix is a 5-digit prefix granted by FICORA on the basis of which telecom operators are identified. Operator prefixes can be used for selecting an operator for local, long-distance and international calls, and when making a call from a land-line phone to a mobile phone.

Local calls made from a land-line telephone, long-distance calls, international calls and calls made to mobile telephones can be dialled call-specifically by using a general operator prefix. General operator prefixes are also suitable for making international calls from mobile phones.

When making a local call, the general operator prefix is dialled before the telephone number.

When making a long-distance call, and when calling to a mobile phone, the general operator prefix is dialled before the area code.

When making an international call, the general operator prefix is dialled before the international code 00.
