International calls

Prefixes for making international calls

International calls are made by either dialling the international prefix 00 or the operator prefix for international telephony. The operator prefix allows you to select the telecom operator of your choice.

Selecting a telecom operator

When you make international calls, select the telecom operator in the following ways:

1. use an international telecommunications operator prefix;
2. make a pre-selection agreement with the telecom operator (concerns land-line subscriptions only; and)
3. press + on your mobile phone, after which your call is directed to the network determined by your telecom operator.

If you have made a pre-selection agreement, the calls you have dialled with the prefix 00 will automatically be directed to the network of the telecom operator of your choice.

Calls dialled without pre-selection agreement or operator prefix are directed to the network determined by the telecom operator you subscribe to.

The operator prefixes for international telecommunications start with 99 and are three to five- digit long.
