Telecommunications areas in Finland and local calls

Finland has thirteen telecommunications areas. The internal telecommunications in telecommunications areas is called local traffic.

One out of the twelve geographic telecommunications areas in Finland, namely the telecommunications area of Uusimaa, is divided into two areas with respect to numbering.

How to make a local call

When you make a call within a telecommunications area, for example to the number 345 6789, select the number in the following way:

345 6789 call via the telecom operator that delivered the subscription
90XYZ 345 6789 call via general operator prefix (XYZ indicates the telecom operator)

The database gives information on the number ranges of the fixed-line network in various telecommunications areas. Wherever it says FICORA in the business column, it means that the number range has been returned to FICORA, but includes ported numbers.
