Price comparison of mobile subscriptions
Compare mobile phone subscription prices - updated in April 2012
Use the profile comparison to compare the running costs of mobile phone subscriptions. The comparison encompasses as many of the consumer subscriptions for sale in Finland as possible. FICORA has picked the consumer subscriptions provided by mobile operators from their websites. They include various voice and text message combinations.
Four user profiles are used for comparing the monthly prices of subscriptions:
- 1. low usage (calls 150 mins/mth, text messages 25 pcs/mth)
- 2. medium usage (calls 300 mins/mth, text messages 100 pcs/mth)
- 3. heavy usage (calls 1000 mins/mth, text messages 200 pcs/mth, data transmission 50 Mt/mth)
- 4. use of text messages (calls 150 mins/mth, text messages 1000 pcs/mth)
Pay attention when comparing
The prices and comparisons do not include
- subscription activation fees;
- special offers;
- prepaid subscriptions; or
- subscriptions that are not for sale anymore.
The prices include value added tax, 23%. The calculation of data transmission price is based on the least expensive alternative.
About 75 per cent of the calls are made to mobile networks and 25 per cent to land-line phones.
The share of mobile phones and text messages directed to the operator's own network equals the operator's market share + 15 per cent. The customers with subscriptions marked with an asterisk receive advertisement messages.
Comparison of operators
The comparison of operators comprises the prices of the least expensive basic subscription of each mobile phone subscription operator. Users may compare the minute prices of calls, for example, and message service prices among various operators. The comparison does not include prepaid subscriptions or subscriptions financed by advertisements.
