Phone bill analysis

Phone call types and tariffs are listed on the phone bill

You may request your telecom operator for a free-of-charge analysis based on call type. If your bill is more than EUR 50, the analysis will be sent to you automatically.

The Communications Market Act states that at least the following call types must be analysed

  • local calls and long-distance calls;
  • international calls and mobile calls;
  • basic rates;
  • text messages, picture messages and other messages; and
  • data transmission services.

Call analysis indicates the number of calls or messages and the total duration by call type. Often operators analyze phone bills by the clock or operator. If you are entitled to a reduction, for example to a certain amount of free call time, it will be shown on the bill in a separate row.

The bill analysis will include received calls and text messages in case they have been charged for. Calls made to free-of-charge numbers and free text messages do not show on the bill analysis.

Calculating the minute price of a call or message

You can calculate the minute price of a call by dividing the price including tax by the total duration, if all call types have the same tariff. Also, you can calculate the price of one message by dividing the price including tax by the number of messages.

It is not necessarily possible to calculate the minute price of service calls, because their minute price may vary from call to call.
