FICORA promotes the construction and development of telecommunications connections in order that all Finns would have easy access to broadband in the future. Also, the authority steers and monitors the technical operations of Finnish companies providing communications services and investigates faults and disturbances related to electronic communications.

FICORA also promotes safe online services and the use of electronic services.
