By commissioning surveys on a regular basis, FICORA monitors the duration and placing of advertising on commercial television channels.

Since 2002, FICORA has monitored the duration and placing of television advertising on commercial TV channels by commissioning bi-annual surveys. The survey is based on prime time programmes recorded on randomly-selected days during one week. From the very beginning, the survey has monitored how MTV 3 and Channel 4 Finland - Nelonen comply with the provisions on advertising. The monitoring focuses on the advertising of Subtv once a year, as well as on the programmes of one digital commercial channel.
